DIRECTIONS:
1. For each month, choose any two of the worksheets listed in the
Extra Credit folder at the online dropbox folder link for your
course (you'll find this link at the bottom of this
page). Only a maximum of two worksheets will be counted
for each month
(1/2 point for each one). You are welcome to do more of
the worksheets, since you might find some of them interesting
and do them for fun and learning, but they will not count as
extra credit.
2. Follow each pages' directions
exactly, to complete them correctly.
3. Turn them in to room 3 by the Thursday after turn-in day each
month (for Month
10, the deadline is the next-to-last day of school -- NOT the
last day).
4.
DO NOT PUT EXTRA CREDIT WITH
MONTHLY WORK, OR WITH RETURNED TEST CORRECTIONS, OR ANYTHING
ELSE. It goes separately in a designated box in room 3.
5. Put it in room 3 in the DESIGNATED
EXTRA CREDIT BOX.
Don't put it anywhere else.
DUE DATES:
FIRST SEMESTER:
Month 1 extra
credit: September 28, 2017.
Month
2 extra credit: October 26,
2017.
Month 3 extra credit: November 30, 2017.
Month 4 extra credit: January 4, 2018.
Month 5 extra credit: February 1, 2018.
SECOND
SEMESTER:
Month 6 extra credit: March 1,
2018.
Month 7
extra credit: April 5, 2018.
Month 8
extra credit: April 26, 2018.
Month 9
extra credit: May 24, 2018.
Month 10
extra credit: Tuesday, June 12, 2018.
IMPORTANT NOTES:
---> ONE
POINT PER MONTH, MAXIMUM. Each
month's extra credit is worth 1 full point added on to the FINAL
grade at the end of the semester, after everything else is scored
and averaged. That means if you have an 87%, B, for
your final semester grade, the extra credit (if you do all
five month's worth) brings it up to 92%, A. Although 1
point doesn't sound like much, it's a lot if it's added to
the final grade as in this case.
---> TAKE IT
SERIOUSLY. Yes, you're expected to put in the time to get the
right answers--or reasonably close. I will grade these
for following directions, completion, and accuracy...in other words, take them
seriously. If
you don't do something correctly, you'll earn partial
credit. So in one month you might earn .75 instead of
a full point. It might be zero if it looks like it
wasn't done seriously. If it's done seriously but a
little bit is not quite correct, don't worry, it will almost
certainly still earn full credit.
---> MAKE
SURE IT'S TURNED IN BY THE DUE DATE.
The due dates listed above really are absolute. You
even have a few extra days each month beyond the end of the
school month (except month 10, of course).
---> ONLY ONE MONTH
AT A TIME, AND NO GOING BACK. Extra credit for a month can
only be done for that one month, and cannot be done during
another month (except the first four days, since the due
date is set up that way). Each month's extra credit
expires on that month's particular due date. Students
can't wait until the end
of the semester and then try to do more extra credit; it's
only one month at a time. Part of the reason for this
is because the
assignments match the concepts you are learning that
month. There will be different choices for the next
month, and you cannot go back and do any of the
past month's extra credit assignments.
REMINDERS:
---> Only two
pages will count each month. You're welcome to do more for
fun and extended learning, but more pages will not give
you more points.
---> You
cannot earn more than one point of extra credit for any one
month, no matter what.
---> You
cannot earn extra credit for past months; there is no "make
up" extra credit.
---> If
you miss a month's deadline, you won't be able to earn that
month's extra credit, only future month's.
--->
Finally,
when you turn in the extra credit, it is ONLY to be turned in to
the designated box that is in room 3 (look for the sign on
it).
Never put it
with your monthly work packet..
